Get energy rated and wave that green flag!

Double Glazing firms may say they offer “peace of mind, fitted as standard”, but once you decide to sell up and move on, will that fairly hefty cheque you signed to the installation company be worth the paper it was written on?  Double glazing prices today are fairly high.  Most companies appear to “agree” on the high prices they charge, so when you sell your home, will you have lost money?

The claim is that Double glazing will attract buyers, will make your home look neater, more up to date and in good decorative order.  From outside your house (or home) needs to give the impression it will really provide the occupant with long lasting protection from the elements.  If the frames blend in with the overall feel of the house, it can be a plus for possible purchasers and will add value.

Double glazing prices may have risen, but it could be one of the best advantages your home has to offer  when you re-sell – keeping out unwanted noise, helping to make fuel bills lower and generally looking great.  At this point in time to be able to sell your home, it’s a legal requirement to supply a possible buyer with your Energy Performance Certificate.  This certificate shows potential purchasers what an independent assessment has ascertained about your premises.  Double glazing prices may rise or plummet, but it has to be worth the investment to install energy rated double glazing if it serves as a Green flag to any future buyers!
